We recently found out that my 96 year old grandmother is not doing well, her health, after years of amazing good fortune, beginning to slow her down. Knowing this will be a confusing time for the girls, I think it best to talk about some of these things before we are actually confronted with them. At dinner tonight we talked about what happens when someone dies.
Mary: Well, it's alright because you can send them a letter.
Kate: No, not really, there are no letters in God's world.
Me: Actually...
Kate: Really Mary, it's simply a time out for old people.
Well then, nothing to worry about, moving on.
